So this month has flown by...so fast in fact that when I met another mom the other day I said little Miss Raegan was almost 15 months!! I've apparently lost track of time and am aging her already. Luckily our little one is not yet 15 months and is a measly 14 months today. I don't think I'm cut out to keep track of the months any longer, so updates may not be official after this! :)
This month is full of more and more activity. Our little Miss is running around like a mad woman, eating everything is sight ALL DAY LONG, and chattering like a maniac. She doesn't stop and is so much fun right now. I think with the rainy weather lately she's feeling a little bored of her toys and the house, but Hayden took her out the other day and apparently she LOVES the mud! I was out of town and missed all the excitement, but heard she was a mess. I'm sure she had a blast!
Miss Raegan is becoming more and more fun and surprises us everyday with new things she has learned. She is super observant and picks things up really fast - it's so amazing to watch! She is also starting to play by herself a lot more and it's interesting to watch how she interacts with her toys and dolls. :)
I have protested the idea of cutting Raegan's hair, much to my mother's dismay, but I'm convinced she doesn't need it and her "shaggy" look is totally stylish! It doesn't seem to bother her too much and she's finally wearing bows to keep it out of her eyes. We'll see how long she lasts with this no hair cutting protest of mine, but so far so good!
Stay tuned for more updates and enjoy this month's photos and a few videos!
So, time sure has flown by...so fast that I forgot to update Miss Raegan's blog!! Apparently, I stopped the updates once she turned 1! Oops! A lot has happened in a month and a half and we've been pretty busy. As for Miss Raegan, this was another month full of activity and adventures. She popped out a few more teeth and is starting to really work at talking now to! She can finally say "mama" but it seems to be only when she is whining and yelling that it comes out the clearest. Weird that "dada" is used sweetly and gently. She must be confused!! HAHA! She also said "cheese" which of course is my least favorite food, but she LOVES it, so it's only fitting that she was able to say it. We're eager to hear her vocabulary grow.
Raegan also had her first official Christmas where she was able to enjoy a lot more than last year. And boy did she!! She helped pick out our Christmas tree and had fun running around the tree farm...I think the men liked her so much they gave us a super great deal on the tree!! Raegan also loved, loved, loved all of the decorations!! Not just those around the house, but the lights outside and all of the Reindeer. She loves animals and was always so excited to see them outside. I also did my very best to prep her for her first Santa visit by showing her lots of pictures of him and saying his name a lot. As you can see from her photo, she wasn't too happy to sit on Santa's lap, but after her visit, she was OBSESSED with Santa! Whenever she saw him or there was a picture of him or anything she would get so excited! We also learned that Miss Raegan is a huge fan of Christmas movies. We've never seen her sit so still than when a Christmas movie would come on...and it didn't matter which one it was! It was adorable. This year, Hayden and I traveled to Los Osos for the holidays and Raegan had so much fun seeing her family and playing with her cousins Nolan and Austen. Christmas morning was a blast being around little kids and all the excitement! We trekked back up North late Christmas night for round 2 of Christmas morning with my family and Miss Raegan had yet another great day full of family and gifts! I'd say she had a great holiday.
Little Miss Raegan had yet another fun-filled month and continues to entertain us every day! Enjoy this month's photos!
Just like her mother, little Miss Raegan had a week long birthday celebration full of family and friends! She started her birthday off at Funtastic - a little tumbling gym for toddlers - with her buddy Ben and Uncle Boogs (Jonathan. I was worried how she would do since she didn't like the big bounce house place the week prior, but she LOVED it! She cruised around with her birthday crown on and definitely had a blast.
After her adventures tumbling, she got to open gifts from some of us and try her hand at diving into a cake. Much to all of our dismay she didn't care for the birthday song or her cake! We tried our best to get her to dive in, but nothing. She did however want the rest of us to taste it and kept trying to share. It was cute, but not all that messy! As the week continued, little Miss Raegan was showered with love from all kinds of family in town for the Thanksgiving holiday. She was timid at first, but definitely enjoyed all the attention ... and even more birthday gifts!! We also took the time to finally take some much needed professional photos of both Raegan for her 1st birthday and of us as a family. We're eager to get the photos in and share with everyone!
And to entertain all her family that was in town, we had a 2nd go at birthday cake. My Aunt Sharon made an adorable cake just for Raegan and this cake was much more acceptable to her and she wasn't as scared. Granted, she didn't tear into it as we would have all loved, but she did eat more of it. She apparently is a dainty little eater and there wasn't much mess to attend to. The 2nd go around was much more successful!
Overall, little Miss Raegan had a wonderful 1st birthday. Thank you to everyone who showered her with love and made the trip up to see us!
It's official, little Miss Raegan is a year old! I can't freaking believe it. I look back and remember how scared I was for her arrival and how I had no idea how to deal with this little being and now she's a little person with a BIG personality! It's amazing how fast time flies and how much she has learned and grown. Raegan is definitely a precious one and has blessed us by being such a good baby. As scared as I was, I am so lucky to have gotten an easy one!!
This month - just as all the others - has been full of adventures for our little one. She has gotten much more active, which has made those chubby lil cheeks thin out a bit. I was hoping my chubby lil thighs would follow, but I'm still waiting. She has also tried out a few more words, but nothing that has made any sense except "dada," "uh-oh" and "yes". "Mama" or "Mommy" are not on her agenda for right now. Miss Raegan has also learned how to give hugs which is absolutely the most adorable thing in the freaking world! The coolest part about watching her learn is knowing that she understands things now. When I say something or ask a question, she really knows what is going on. It's amazing to watch and so fun to actually be able to interact more and more.
Raegan also got to experience the zoo for the first time. Since we always call her Monkey, we thought it was fitting to make her pose with her kind!! :) Luckily I have never visited the San Diego Zoo and had nothing to compare it to because apparently the SAC zoo is not too vast. But, for an 11 month old with a 15 minute attention span, it was perfect! Someday we'll take her to the "World Famous" San Diego Zoo!!
Again, I can't believe a year has gone by, but what a wonderful one it has been. I could never understand it when my friends talked about how fast it goes or how much love you can have for your child, but now (of course) I completely get it and can't get enough of her! I love this little person so much and I am like a little kid on Christmas Eve every night, anxious for what she will do the next day. Happy Birthday Little Miss Raegan - we love you so very much!!
Little Miss Raegan wasn't quite sure about her first Halloween, but we tried to make the most of it! We ventured out to Old Town Sacramento, which was nice for us to finally get out and see the town we live in! It's such a cute, quaint area with a lot of history. They had several businesses participating in the trick or treating activity, but because Miss Raegan is so young, she only made it to one shop. She was more interested in the bear outside the shop than the actual activity of trick or treating, which of course is to be expected. But, of course I can't miss out on a photo op!!
On actual Halloween, little Miss Raegan ventured out again in her costume much to her dismay. We joined the neighborhood kids and they just LOVED Raegan. They wanted to carry her around and take her to every house. And again, because she's so young, we only made it to 2-3 houses, but her new friends made sure they collected candy for her basket! It was so cute and probably more fun for us, but again, made for great pictures!!
Okay, time needs to just stop now...our little Miss Raegan is growing up way too fast! This month has been full of adventures for her and she is leading the way. She's officially a walker now - or shall I say runner - and loves to explore her surroundings. The beginning of the month started out with some spills and a nice goose egg on her head, but she has gotten much better at avoiding the falls and spills now.
Her other new adventure is finding her voice! Once she figures out to form words, this little girl is going to be a chatter box. She wakes us all up to her sweet chatter - okay, not so sweet at 5am, but I'm being a nice mommy in this blog! :) I will have to say that her official first word is "dada" of course, but I'm working on the "mama" harder than I've worked at anything else in my life! haha!
Miss Raegan has also found a new friend in her cabbage patch doll we've named Penny. This reminds me of myself as a little girl when I had a family of cabbage patch dolls. Raegan doesn't like to go far without her Penny and when she sees her she lights up with smiles. It's too cute!
Now with Raegan walking more and more, the park has become a lot more fun for her. She is taking off, chasing the big kids, crawling through the cubby holes and through the tunnels. We have to go outside or to the park at least a few times a day, she loves it so much!
We're going to try and make this last month stretch and go as long as possible before little Miss Raegan turns one. I'm certainly not ready to call her 1 just yet and keep telling people "I just had a baby" which of course is a lie and was almost a year ago! I can't believe it and am in complete denial that she is aging. Although it is beyond fun, it's bitter sweet to see our little baby grow up and become a little lady!
Enjoy this month's photos and videos of little Miss Raegan and her adventures!!
Well little Miss Raegan is growing up so fast! She's an active little thing and will be walking here in no time. This month has been full of action and she is loving the fact that she can get to where she wants to go now!
Raegan is now able to enjoy more activities at the park and is in love with the baby slide. She crawls up and down the steps with no fear and loves to slide down, giggling the entire time! And of course she loves watching the bigger kids and gets a kick out of the things they do. She wants to be a big kid SO bad!
We've also taken little Miss Raegan on a few trips this month. She went to Lake San Antonio for a 4-day camping trip with the family and got to see her Grandma and Grandpa Kelly and her Uncle Matt and cousin Austen. She had a blast crawling around the campsite getting nice and dirty! :) We also took her down to Bakersfield to meet even more family! She was a rock star for the 5 hour drive both ways and showed me that I need to stop stressing about traveling and new environments. Raegan is a trooper and just goes with the flow!
This month Raegan has definitely mastered crawling and is gearing up to walk in probably a matter of days. She loves her walker and cruising around the furniture. She's even taken a few steps on her own! Unfortunately I have yet to catch that on video, but I have the camera handy now to catch those first few wobbly steps! We're enjoying this active phase and taking her out to the parks more often. She loves to be outside and we're patiently waiting for it to cool down so she can enjoy her outside toys.
Stay tuned for more updates and enjoy this month's photos!
